Sometimes I feel like nothing I am doing is making a difference, but I suppose I just need to be more stubborn than she! Very hard at times, though!Mariannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04957874695552763609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274008603909996948.post-72281637210115354792011-01-25T15:53:34.268-06:002011-01-25T15:53:34.268-06:00Thanks for writing this. I was just thinking the other day that Maya is starting to act like the terrible twos...and she's on the verge of turning 3. =)evrfwdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15827600561105558115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274008603909996948.post-64461237238186113182011-01-16T15:52:19.355-06:002011-01-16T15:52:19.355-06:00Ria,
As someone who went through all these stages ...Ria,
As someone who went through all these stages so long ago, rediscovering them is strangely scary. :) I believe Caleb is about a year older than Matthew-he will be 4 in March. Just recently has he really begun to misbehave "on purpose"-running away from us, throwing, etc. I'm so with you on your statement about time-out and redirection. "To him, there is no connection between quietly sitting alone for 3 minutes as a consequence for shoving his sister. Redirection seems to work better but the timing to redirect him has to be perfect." Sometimes, I feel like I'm the only one in the house who's noticed this :/ It will be interesting to see how the 4's develop!Karen Pnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274008603909996948.post-18438505704222280012011-01-13T12:46:35.167-06:002011-01-13T12:46:35.167-06:00Sounds pretty typical to me! He and Matthew would get along famously.

I also had one who did the terrible twos from 1 to 2yo. That was actually better.

Hang in there!Tarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12808674825863044909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274008603909996948.post-46626576751361380732011-01-13T07:55:34.268-06:002011-01-13T07:55:34.268-06:00For us, the Threes were much worse than the Twos! ...For us, the Threes were much worse than the Twos! I had knit a santa hat for little G and kept asking her to take a photo, she has developed a serious dislike of me behind the camera. I think my blog post was something like 'tude. She turned 5 in Nov. and was so delayed that we think that she is basically in the terrible twos. She was also sick with a cold for Christmas and it seems like all that she or I said that week was "no". ;) I completely understand what you feel like. This time around I only have one tho....Annahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05452607521750848540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274008603909996948.post-85952909545448039112011-01-12T21:27:57.801-06:002011-01-12T21:27:57.801-06:00Yep, you've discovered the secret. So much attitude!

At least these trials are good for something: preparation for teenagers.

Hang in there. He'll move past this.
